We require all dogs older than 6 months of age to be spayed or neutered. All dogs must be current on vaccinations including DHLPP, and Bordatella (Bordatella is required every 6 months). Dogs over 4 months of age must also have their rabies vaccine.

Your dog will need to receive the Bordatella vaccination 48 hours prior to starting day care. Please note that although vaccinated, dogs can still get symptoms of Bordatella, which include decreased appetite and a hacking cough. If your dog is coughing or otherwise ill, please do not bring him/her to day care.

All dogs playing at Doggy Day Care & Paw Spa must be dog friendly and people friendly. On their first day at day care we require dogs to arrive early (between 6:45-7:30am) to allow them the chance to check the place out, smell all the smells and become familiar with the new surroundings before many other dogs arrive. Dogs and their parents will be interviewed by the owner or another designated employee of Doggy Day Care prior to their 1st visit, to assess their suitability for day care. Day Care can be frightening for some dogs with some needing 2-3 sessions before they will feel comfortable and trusting enough to come out of their shell. We also recommend that you have someone available to retrieve your friend on his/her 1st day just in case he/she becomes too stressed in this new environment.

We do provide Kirkland brand biscuits as a mid-day treat for your dog. If your dog is on a special diet or requires a full meal mid-day please bring your own food with your dog and we will make sure he/she gets it.

While we understand that it is fun to watch your dog interacting with his playmates, we ask that you refrain from lingering too long as the dogs will adjust better without you there. They will sometimes feel torn between playing with their friends and staying close to their parents or showing protective and/or aggressive behaviors. Mid-day visits are also discouraged as this can cause confusion for your dog if you aren’t ready to take him/her with you. Instead, please take advantage of our doggy cam where you can log on to watch your dog play at www.doggydaycareview.com.

If, while entering and/or exiting Doggy Day Care your dog relieves him/herself outside, please let one of the staff know and we will clean it up right away. Please don’t be embarrassed when this happens, as your furry friend is just excited to get here or to be picked up. This will also ensure a good continuing relationship with our landlord.

While we do everything we can to invite only friendly, well-socialized, and well-behaved dogs to Doggy Day Care. Please remember that dogs use their teeth and paws when they play and wrestle; therefore minor scratches or scrapes are considered normal. On Occasion normal play between dogs can quickly escalate towards aggression. We use squirt bottles of water or noisemakers to prevent any escalated play from becoming aggressive. If however your dog is injured while playing at Doggy Day Care, we will notify you immediately and transport your pet to the nearest veterinarian if needed. If your dog directly injures another dog while at Doggy Day Care that requires medical attention, you will be held responsible for the injured dogs vet bill and depending on the circumstances your dog may not be allowed back at Doggy Day Care until a licensed trainer has evaluated him/her.

Our hours of operation are 6:45am-6:00pm Monday thru Saturday. We are closed on the Sundays except for boarding dogs that are fed and let out to run around for at least 4hrs each day. On Saturday we are open until 7pm and on Sunday from 7:30-9:30am and 5-7pm for either drop-off or pick-up. If you are going to be late picking up your dog please let us know with a phone call 825-DOGS (3647). If you have failed to pick-up your dog by 7pm and we cannot reach you, we will put your furry friend up for the night until we hear from you. Parents picking up their dogs after 6:15pm will be charged a late fee of $10 for every 15 minutes that they are late unless prior arrangements have been made.

Finally, if you are happy with our services, please tell your friends and neighbors! For every successful customer referral your dog will receive a free day of day care!

SPECIAL NOTE ON BOARDING

Extra food is recommended in case you are unable to make it back as scheduled. Boarding suites include spacious rooms with toddler beds for your dogs comfort, TV’s with VCR, and a great variety of animal-themed movies for your dog’s pleasure. Boarding dogs must be spayed or neutered, dog friendly and current on all vaccines including bordatella. We recommend that your dogs attend at least one day of day care prior to boarding if not previously attended. Parents are requested to bring their dog’s regular food, bed, and toys to prevent stomach upset and provide their dog with familiar scents of home. Don't forget to bring food your dog is used to eating. We don't like to change food on dogs suddenly as this usually gives them the runs. We do keep a limited quantity of food on hand for our foster dogs, if you forget, however; there will be a $5 charge per dog for each day we have to feed them with our foster dog food.
